Factors That You Need to Know Before Hiring a Professional Moving Company

golan's moving

Let's face it - nobody likes moving. Well, maybe not the idea of moving in itself, but with all the packing and things to take care of to make the move a success. A change of environment and scenery can be very exciting, but the main tasks involving relocating will consume a lot of time, money, and effort.

With that in mind, it is easier to just hang up the towel and call in a professional moving company instead. But before you sign any contract, here are some factors that you should take into deep consideration prior to giving the pros the go signal to handle your stuff.

HIRING A PROFESSIONAL MOVING COMPANY

Know the peak times when hiring the services of a professional moving company.

Many people will relocate during the end or the beginning of the month. During these times, you may be unable to get a proper hold of the services of professional movers. Therefore, plan to acquire such assistance during the middle of the month, if it is possible.

Begging a move to squeeze you into their busy schedules is just a great recipe for disaster. The movers will already be stressed by the sheer number of customers they have to handle. Hence, even if they do find a minute time to assist you with your packing and moving, they may not be able to handle the tasks expertly as you would have hoped since they'll be too tired. But hey, don't blame these guys. Movers are human too and they CAN get tired.

Finalize a date that will be best for the moving company

While you have a deadline to keep (and that is your moving day), work with the moving company on a suitable date for both parties to deem it the best time and date to cooperate. This way, you also make sure that the movers will be in their prime when they assist you with all the packing, storage, and delivery.

Request to be the first customer of the day

If it's possible, have the movers put you at the top of their list on that day. If they put you at, say about their 5th customer for the day, do expect that the guys will be exhausted. Thus, they may work slower and even do some of the tasks with a less than satisfactory attitude.

Golan's Moving Tips - How to Make New Friends at the New Place

golan's moving

One of the hardest parts about relocating to a new city is that you have to leave your friends behind at the old place. While the Internet and social media can be a gateway to let you guys keep in touch from time to time, it still won't feel the same since you can't see each other every day like you used to. While your old pals back at the old city will still be there for you, it is also a good idea to make some new friends at the new place.

USEFUL TIPS BROUGHT TO YOU BY GOLAN'S MOVERS TO GET YOU ACQUAINTED WITH NEW PEOPLE

Being the new guy or girl around the block can sometimes be nerve-racking, but it is by no means impossible. Here are some great tips brought to us by Golan's Moving and Storage to assist you in making new friends at the new city.

Find something in common

What better way to make new friends than to find out what you have in common. If you've now settled in and have noticed some of your neighbors moving about, pay attention to their daily routines. Find out if they have something they like that is similar to what you admire. Similar hobbies perhaps?

Once you get that similar thing, don't be afraid to go for small talk. Politely say, "Hi, I'm your new neighbor." Go for some small talk. It won't hurt you to try.

Find help from the kids

If you have kids, and your neighbors have them as well, then do know it is often easier to meet new neighbors with them. How? Well, kids are usually more open to say Hi and Hello to other kids than us adults. So if they meet new kids, they won't be too ashamed to invite them to play. You can then find the common ground that you are looking for with your neighbors - which is your kids.

Volunteer in a neighborhood activity

One of the best ways to meet the people in your neighborhood is for you to volunteer in an upcoming activity or event. When you are in said activity, you have no choice but to socialize with other people to get work done. This is a great way to meet new friends.

Go to the local gym

If you are into fitness, then do not just do all your workouts at home. Go to the local gym and socialize with other fitness fanatics in there. Who knows, even if you did get inside the establishment alone, you'll go outside as part of a group.
