Snap a photo of all the wires connected to
your electronic devices.
Own
a desktop computer? How about a television set? Or how about a mini-recording
studio inside your current home? If you do have one of these, or other gadgets
that have multiple wires sticking out of them, then do not take said chords out
just yet! Instead, get your digital camera or your smartphone with a camera and
snap a photo of the wires first. This way, you'll have an easier way
reconnecting them once you get to your new place.
Use liquor boxes for heavier items.
Go
to your local liquor store and see if you could ask some of their old boxes
that used to carry their old bottles. If they can give it to your for free,
then great! If not, ask if they are for sale.
When
you acquire them, promptly remove the partitions inside the container. Now, you
have a box with which you can place heavy items in, like books (among others).
Why is this special type of box so great? Because it has handles!
Place important documents in ziplock bags.
In
every household, there is bound to be an important document or two. It could be
a copy of your marriage contract, a birth certificate, or other important
documents. These are the papers that you do not want damaged. As such, put them
inside a folder, then put said folder inside a ziplock bag.
